After third-party labor provider Retail Business Development was named to Tampa Bay Business Journal’s “50 Fastest Growing Companies 2014,” it enlisted Pyper Young to help them keep pace. Doubling down to compete—and win—against larger, more established competitors, the firm underwent a complete corporate branding initiative under a new name, SalesMakers, LLC.
Pyper Young marched SalesMakers through an intensive brand position exercise that focused on how SalesMakers helps its clients make more money. With this formulation, the agency staked an in-your-face brand manifesto, a fresh “rainmaker” logo, bold color palette and the tagline, Retail Pros. Ready to Go.
Then, we created a set of brand tools to support sales, including websites for prospect mining and employee recruitment, plus a powerful corporate video. To tease the brand launch, SalesMakers invited prospects to “make it rain” with a fun interactive mailer. It was a smash—SalesMakers fully booked Consumer Electronics Show appointments with targeted top retail companies.
The SalesMakers brand development project created a deluge. Within months after launch, the company had won enough new business to generate 5,500 new jobs nationwide and fill 100 new positions at its corporate headquarters.
